Dawson Denim.

As part of a second-year module, my group and I were assigned the live brief of creating a lookbook for brand Dawson Denim, showcasing their Made in Japan collection and its craftmanship.
We discovered that in a fast-moving fashion landscape, consumers are increasingly drawn to brands with quality and memories of simplicity. Our concept was a 1960’s Hollywood inspired visual direction balancing editorial imagery with close-up shots, with themes of rivalry drawing from iconic denim movies like West Side Story.
My key role was the creative direction and styling of our photoshoot, having researched and studied cinema shots to inspire our angles and lighting. I am really happy with the final images, and they fitted into our lookbook perfectly, creating a narrative alongside showing the quality of their products through studio flat lays. This was my first experience of working with a brand and visiting their space for an interim pitch. It allowed me to develop my confidence presenting in professional settings and produce work within brand guidelines.
